Summary:

The Teen Titans first came about due to the popularity of the team-up. First with the superhero team the Justice League of America and with the comic, “The Brave and the Bold,” which paired favorite heroes together such as Green Lantern and Green Arrow, and The Atom and The Flash. The first team-up of what would become the Teen Titans was with Robin, Aqualad, and Kid Flash. The team-up proved to be popular and with the Batman TV show gaining in popularity, the team got its own book.

The Teen Titans chronicles the adventures of DC’s most popular teen heroes. Robin has generally been its leader and has had a main role in the comic since its inception. Other mainstays of the comic have been Cyborg, Starfire, Beast Boy, Raven, and Impulse.

In an interview with writer Geoff Johns, the series, “…is about teen heroes growing up together. They're saving the world, and each other.” Currently, the heroes team is missing many of its members, with Starfire lost in space, Beast Boy with the Doom Patrol, Superboy is dead, and Robin has just come back after a year sabbatical with Batman and Nightwing. The team is looking for lost member Raven and is trying to hold itself together by recruiting new members such as Zatara the teen magician.
