Summary:

Ms. Marvel is the story of Carol Danvers, a hero with many tragic facets in her life. She was a fighter pilot that was the love interest of the Kree (a warlike alien race) hero Captain Marvel, only to be exposed to a Kree device and granted amazing powers.

Those powers were ripped from her when she battled the mutant Rogue, who absorbed her powers, memories, and emotional ties to her past. She was powerless and barely made it through the experience with her life. Later, Carol was granted cosmic powers through a white hole from being experimented on by the highly volatile and ruthless aliens the Brood.

Her cosmic powers gone but not powerless Carol became the hero Ms. Marvel, and the pressure drove her to become an alcoholic. She battles her disease the same way she fights as a hero, head on.

Now, as an ally of Iron Man and the Superhero Registration Act, Ms. Marvel fights for the government, again as a soldier. She trains others that are inducted into the program and tracks down those that oppose the registration of heroes, fighting enemies and onetime allies. Ms. Marvel has managed to become one of the forefront heroes of the Marvel universe with a hot book, great creative team, and compelling storylines.
