Pull List Comic Book Glossary Definition

By , About.com Guide

Definition: In collecting, a pull list is used in regards to the list of comic books you are regularly buying at a FLCS or through an online retailer. To ensure that you get the comic books that you want, most retailers offer some kind of subscription service where you might put a deposit down or credit card on file and then write down the list of comic books you want each month. The retailer keeps these on file and uses the information to help them in their orders. When the comics come to the store, they use the list to set aside your weekly comic books and "pull" them from their shipment and put them in a safe place such as some kind of storage box.

The pull list is every comic book you have committed to purchase. Fans of comics can use this information in conversation to see what kind of a reader you are and if your tastes align, they might check out another comic on your pull list. Some places will even post your lists for others to peruse and there are online communities that do the same. Your pull list will often tell what kind of comic reader you are, whether you are a Marvel Zombie or a DC Fanboy. This kind of speculation isn't serious and is mostly lighthearted.
