By Aaron Albert, About.com

Buying gifts for the holidays can be extremely stressful, but with these ten items to choose from, you can be sure your comic book fan will be well taken care of. This is a list of the top gifts for adults this holiday season.

1. The Dark Knight DVD

Copyright Warner Bros.
The top movie of the year didn't make the best DVD for Christmas, but comic fans are still clamoring for it. I thought the Blu-ray was the best of the bunch with a decent amount of extras, and the 2-disc and single disc having just the bare bones. Either way, this DVD is hot and right on time for the holiday season. You can also find a lot of variations of the disc with toys, statues, and other trinket packages.
Cost: $15-$60

2. DC Direct/Marvel Legends

Some of the latest in the DC Direct/Marvel Legends action figure lines are really sweet. Take the Crisis on Infinite Earths DC figures or the Onslaught Marvel Legends villains series. Both have some excellent choices for the comic book fan.
Cost: Around $10-$20

3. Superhero Clothing

Superhero clothing is making a big splash in pop-culture clothing and can be found in many large retails such as Target or Walmart. There are also online retailers like Superherostuff.com that carries a huge assortment of online items.

4. Original Comic Book Art

The pinnacle of any comic book collector would be a piece of original art from their favorite comic book. The cost may be high - a classic original Spider-Man piece of art went for over $100,000, but you can find many current pieces for current comic books from $75plus. Always buy from a reputable dealer to be sure your getting the real deal.
Cost: Varies

5. Hard Cover Graphic Novels

Hard cover graphic novels are more spendy than their soft cover counterparts, but they are much more classy. There are a lot of great hardcover graphic novels out there right now, with some top ones being Joker by Brian Azzarello and Lee Bermejo and Watchmen by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons.
Cost: $15-$40.

6. Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited Subscription

Marvel.com has an online subscription service where you can read thousands of comics right on your own computer. There isn't a lot of the newest comics, but there are a lot of exclusive online content and back issues to read. You can read whole runs of comics in one sitting making it a great gift, especially since it doesn't take up extra space.
Cost: $5 per month or $60 yearly subscription.

7. Bust/Statue

There are many great statues or busts of comic book characters. Bowen Designs does a great amount of Marvel characters and DC Direct has a great line of statues including statues of the upcoming Watchmen movie.

8. Mortal Combat VS DC Universe

This games pairs the popular fighting game Mortal Kombat with some of DC Comics top heroes. They can take control of their favorite DC characters and fight with them to save the universe. This is a great game for fans of the DC Universe that are also gamers.
