Summary:

The Eternals is a classic group of characters created by the legendary Jack Kirby back in the 70’s. Over one million years ago, a group of godlike space dwellers known as the Celestials came to earth. They practiced their sciences on humans and changed them using their vast powers of cosmic energy. The Celestials created two new species, The Eternals and The Deviants and the two groups as different from each other as night and day. The Eternals were more human like in their appearance and the Deviants where much more ghastly and had animal characteristics.

The Eternals isolated themselves from both the humans and the Deviants and built the beautiful city of Titanos. A civil war broke out between Uranos, who wanted to rule both humans and Deviants, and his brother Kronos, who felt they should protect humanity. Kronos eventually won and exiled his brother and followers into outer space. The exiles eventually formed a colony on Uranus and Titan, a moon of Saturn. Kronos then devoted himself to science and his family.

When an accident occurred, destroying Titanos and barraging the Eternals with more cosmic energy, their physiology changed. They gained a near immortal status, could withstand tremendous amounts of damage, project energy blasts, they could now fly, teleport, and could even transmute things, which is changing one item into another.

Throughout their existence, they have fought with their counterparts, the Deviants. The Deviants lived mostly underground and looked for ways to enslave humanity and destroy the Eternals. The Deviants have not succeeded, but continue to look for a way to rule the world.

Often, some Eternals will walk among humans, either posing as an ordinary civilian or even joining with other superhuman beings. Sersi was a member of the The Avengers and Pixie and Makkari were members of the First Line. The Eternals have continued to work as protectors of humanity and defend those who might fall under the sway of the Deviants and others that would threaten Earth.
