Emerald City Comic Con Journal - Opening Day

The Convention Floor

Copyright Aaron Albert
As I arrived to get into the con, I found that the line had already started and was rapidly growing down the sidewalk of the Qwest Event Center. People were still buying their tickets as well and they seemed pretty pumped to get into the con. There were all sorts of people there, from the regular comic book fanboys to teens, and parents with their kids.

Inside, before the doors opened, the con was quiet but seemed to have a buzzing sense of anticipation. The “freebie” section was all laid out and they had people shooing off potential takers before the con officially started. Almost all the creators were there, some in the Artists Alley and others in the various publishers’ booths such as Image, Arcana, Oni Press, and others. As the doors opened and the con goers rushed in, everybody went into action. It was looking to be a good show.
