I Am Legend was first a novel written by Richard Mattheson and has subsequently gone through many adaptations. The first was the Vincent Price film, "The Last Man On Earth," and later "The Omega Man," with Charlton Heston. The latest adaptation stars Will Smith and is named after the book. Horror favorite Steve Niles wrote a graphic novel adaptation fifteen years ago that was first published by the now defunct Eclipse Comics, but is being reprinted by IDW Publishing.
