Story - Fantastic Four DVD

The Fantastic Four is the origin story of one of the longest running comic books out there. Four scientists are thrown together in the name of science, greed, and power to discover the secrets of an unusual cosmic storm, which Reed Richards believes to be the catalyst for the start of life on earth.

The man funding the expedition, and who ultimately ends up opposing them, is Victor Von Doom, Latverian citizen and head of Von Doom Industries. Victor agrees to sponsor Reed’s research of the cosmic storm and accompanies Reed and pilot Ben Grim with his own team, ex-girlfriend of Reed Sue Storm, and her brother Johnny Storm, also a pilot.

The five are exposed to the cosmic radiation of the storm and end up acquiring fantastic powers, which Victor uses for evil, and Reed, Ben, Sue, and Johnny realize must use their powers to stop the evil and maniacal Victor Von Doom as the Fantastic Four.

Review - Fantastic Four DVD

Let’s face it, we buy many DVD’s nowadays not only to see the movie, but also for the extra features that DVD’s can provide. The great thing about the Fantastic Four is that it doesn’t disappoint in the extra’s department. The Fantastic Four DVD felt, “meaty,” as it had a lot of special features that help to make this DVD a great buy.

Fantastic Four DVD Special Features

The Fantastic Four DVD came with some excellent Special Features:
Video Diary – Produced by Jessica Alba, this diary takes us on a whirlwind tour of publicity that the cast goes on to promote the film. This feature really gives you a feeling of what it is like to promote a movie.

Deleted Scenes – A little sparse with only three scenes, but the bonus of Reed Richards making himself look like Hugh Jackman as Wolverine more than made up for it.

Casting Session – Stan Lee talking about the casting choices? Very cool.

Making a Scene – An excellent look into the making of the Brooklyn Bridge Scene. It was incredible to see how they actually pulled it off. I was very impressed with the work they did on that scene after finding out everything they had to do to make it look the way they did.

Behind the Scenes Featurette – A nice look into the four main characters and cast with interviews and more.

Commentary– A full commentary by the entire cast.

There were also a couple of excellent short items to take note of: An interview with Avi Arad about the upcoming X-Men 3 and a trailer for the Ultimate Avengers DVD.

Fantastic Four DVD Bottom Line

Bottom Line: With these excellent special features, the movie that was pretty good, becomes a great DVD that will keep you entertained for quite some time. Check out the Fantastic Four DVD.
