History:

Sharad Devarajan, the co-founder, Chief Executive Officer and Publisher of Virgin Comics and Virgin Animation, also founded Gotham Entertainment Group , South Asia's leading comic book publisher. For the past nine years Mr. Devarajan has been instrumental in securing and maintaining licensing arrangements with DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Dark Horse Comics, Cartoon Network and Warner Bros. Worldwide Publishing. Through Gotham Entertainment Group, Mr. Devarajan and his co-founding partner, Suresh Seetharaman have established a leading South Asian publishing company that caters to youth oriented magazines. In 2005 Sharad and Suresh teamed with Gotham Chopra (coincidentally named the same as their Company) to invent new mythologies and spark a creative renaissance in Indian character entertainment. Joined with Deepak Chopra and Shekhar Kapur, they reached out to Sir Richard Branson to bring this vision under the Virgin group of companies. In our first six months of publishing we have seven monthly titles in the market and look to double that over the next six months. We are also looking to aggressively expand into licensing, animation, and live action films in this year.
