This has been making rounds at comic book sites such as
CBR,
Comics Reporter and
Journalista! although I like Dirk's link line best, "Somewhere in Northampton, Alan Moore is laughing." It would seem that FOX is claiming to have the rights to The Watchmen. A judge has denied the dismissal motion by Warner Bros. and this could cost the WB lots of money or even the movie altogether, which appears to be what FOX wants. With the movie so close to premiering, one wonders why FOX would have waited so long to file the suit, since it was common knowledge that WB was developing the film. Sneaky tactics? I just hope the fans don't lose out on what could be a great comic book film. I imagine that with the film completed and ready to go, the film will see daylight, but the costs to WB could be very large.
