James Fleming Introduction Longtime comic book collector and fan of the genreUniversity instructor who uses comics in his coursesContributor to the Interdisciplinary Comics Studies academic journal Experience James Fleming, Ph.D. is a former writer for ThoughtCo where he wrote about the comic book genre. Dr. Fleming spent more than 30 years reading, studying, collecting, and even teaching about the comic book form of literature. He contributes to the Interdisciplinary Comics Studies, a peer-reviewed journal devoted to the study of the comic book.Part of his graduate study in English focused on the comic book genre. A student-favored instructor, Dr. Fleming weaves the comic into the classes he teaches. Since 2010, he taught graduate and undergraduate English, Writing, and Editing courses at Keiser University. He was also an associate professor for online, Herzing University Ltd for two years. Education James Fleming earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in English Language and Literature–Letters from the University of Florida (UF).
