I was doing some research on Marvel Digital Comics Unlimted (MDCU) for a profile article and decided to plunge in for a years subscription. I could have paid $9.99 for a months subscription to try it out, but figured I'd save 50% by prepaying the entire year. In the end I thought it would be a great resource for research on upcoming projects.
While filling out the subscription details, I saw one of my favorite text boxes labeled "Promo Code." If you ever see the words "Promo Code" on an online site that you are going to buy something, stop immediately and enter in the name of the website and promo code in Google and you will usually find a code on one of the deal sites that will save you some money. The code I found was "MARVEL30" and will net you an additional 30% off of the subscription fee. This gives you a savings of just over 65% and it is good until December 31st, 2010. I paid only $41.92 for a years access to MDCU! That's only $3.49 a month for the subscription service. Not bad at all if you ask me.
If you are thinking about MDCU, act now and save a ton on a years subscription. You're basically getting eight months free for four fully paid months. That's savings you can use to buy more comics, in paper or in digital format. Heck, that could even pay for your entrance into a local con or two for the upcoming year.

It would have been nice to mention that Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited is NOT for the iPad – it does not work in Safari due to it being Flash based – and it does not work with Comixology viewer. To me – Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited is USELESS. I am trying to get a refund since I jumped on it based on your review.
Hey Lou,
Sorry to hear that. If you are talking about the profile , it does say that the platform is for the desktop computer. Either way, it probably doesn’t work as the Ipad does not have Flash and MDCU views comics via a Flash player. You could always jailbreak it and get the Frash download, but that can be difficult. Hope it works out for you.
