Iron Man 2 is just around the corner and the Iron Man 2 Gallery has been updated with a bevy of new photos. I for one am so excited for this film as the first one was amazing. I am concerned though. This film seems to be going the way of most comic book movie sequels, which is the dash to shove as many new characters into it. War Machine, Black Widow, Whiplash, Justin Hammer, all make their debut here. I have faith in Favreau though, and hope he pulls a Singer rather than a Singer in this one.
In the end, this continues to mark a great trend in comics. The first weekends in May really have become devoted to comic books nationwide. We get Free Comic Book Day (May 1st) and the opening of a highly anticipated comic book movie (May 7th). It is really a great way to introduce others to comics, and your local comic shop needs you now more than ever. Take one down when you go to either event and then hand them a comic. It doesn't have to be Iron Man, but maybe something you know they will love. That is surely the way to make this time a great one for comics.
