Kick Ass the movie is almost upon us. Man, this movie went from concept, to comic, to movie so fast. It feels like this is the kind of thing we will be seeing more of, especially with big name writers and artists attached to new releases. It is very funny to think of how things used to be. The delay has certainly become shorter.
I remember when a movie was released and it was a long time before we saw it available in the video store. Most comics and books made into movies had to wait to gain critical mass before they were even thought of to become a motion picture. Nowadays, we have the last comic of Kick Ass released in March and the movie in April. It's almost rather humorous when you think about it. I personally think the final issue of Kick Ass was delayed to give time to get the movie into theaters. Even still, from the first issue, which was released in April of 2008 to the end of the eight issue series which came in March of 2010, that is a short time for even a movie to get filmed and into theaters. Strange times we live in, strange times indeed.
