Comic Book Store Innovations

Follow me on:

I stumbled up on a "hastily put together video" of one of my local comic book stores - Cosmic Monkey Comics. They were actually one of the retailers nominated for the Will Eisner Spirit Of Comics Retailer Award and its things like this little YouTube video that shows why it was nominated. I've seen them as having a history in doing things outside of the box. Its a quick little tour with a great bit at the end showcasing all their cosmic monkey sketches that they have gotten over the years. I love seeing retailers try new things and even though this is something small, it gives me a smile and puts a thought in my mind that this retailer will be able to weather the storm of the current downward trend in the economy and rise to cosmic heights. Has there been something your local comic book store has put on that caught your eye? Post below.

Wow, looks like a cut and paste of a store I used to frequent in downtown Ogden, UT. There is definitely differences, but there is sure a lot of similarity. Do all comic stores across the country look the same? I doubt it, but there must be a lot of similarities also. The video was kind of daja vu.
