Own A Piece Of Comic Book History

Saturday November 29, 2008
Got a cool press release (a rare thing) about an upcoming live auction through Profiles In History that is showcasing a lot of pop culture movies memorabilia. There is a lot of items for the comic fan, with such pieces as Batman's cowl, Wolverines leather suit, Jor-El's costume, and even this statue from Batman and Robin of Robin frozen. The movie sucked, I know, but this is a rather humorous piece. I can just imagine setting up a room with this piece under a light and showing friends my latest piece to my collection - the superhero Robin - Muwahahaha! Oh, er, um...sorry about that.

These items are probably out of the everyday collectors price range, the Jor-El costume is starting at $115,000, but they are fun to look at and ponder the possibilities. It seems that comic collectors don't just get comics, but branch into other areas as well. Me, I love comic art, comic movies, action figures, and just about anything Captain America related. What about you? How is your comic related itch scratched?
