Buying Comic Book Art

Sunday September 7, 2008
Comic book collectors don't just collect comic books. They also collect the things based on those comics. Movies, action figures, games, and more are put on walls, adorn our clothes, and displayed on our shelves. Go to the next level and get a piece that the comic book itself is based on. What am I talking about, the original comic art, that is. Comic book art is a great way to get a piece of comic history, have a great conversation starter, and decorate your home to boot. Find some tips in this article about buying a piece of comic book art.

Buying comic art is something that in the long run will pay of in big bucks. It’s the under appreciated fine art of the near apocalyptic future. I tried to buy some original pages from Ed Clayton, creator of the zesty, violent, punch bowl, horror comic, “Dr.Grave” and he gave me some crap like he doesn’t have original art worth selling. What a loon! I hear being compiled and going into borders, barnes and Noble. Can they handle that type of raw original material? I’s pretty creative and not on the NYtimes bestseller list…yet.
