Fantastic Four 2 - Tim Story's Second Chance
I found this pretty cool article over at the L.A.Times that delves in to some background behind what is driving the second film in the Fantastic Four franchise. It seems director Tim Story put himself on the line by opening up his Myspace page to comments from fanboys so as to gather what would help make the second film more successful with them. As most of you may know, the first movie was panned by critics, but found great success in the box office, bringing in over $300 million worldwide. One of the things that really stuck out to me was how the article discusses how the film reached a much younger audience than expected. It apparently did very well with younger kids and therefore with their parents who brought them. Therefore, they did some things with the latest film to make it play better with that younger audience, such as toning down Dr. Doom's brutal side. It worries me that Dr. Doom will be "toned down" as no one tones down Doom! I guess we'll have to see.
